Dark matter substructures affect dark matter-electron scattering in xenon-based direct detection experiments

A bstract Recent sky surveys have discovered a large number of stellar substructures. It is highly likely that there are dark matter (DM) counterparts to these We examine the implications DM substructures for electron recoil (ER) direct detection (DD) rates in dual phase xenon experiments. utilized results LAMOST survey and considered few benchmark our analysis. Assuming constitute 10% local density, we study discovery limits DM-electron scattering cross sections considering one kg-year exposure 1, 2, 3 thresholds. With this threshold, it possible observe effect substructure currently allowed parameter space. also explore sensitivity experiments resolving fraction. For all cases, having mass $$ \mathcal{O}(10) O 10 MeV has better prospect fraction as compared \mathcal{O}(100) 100 scale DM. find within cross-section; can resolve (provided non-negligible contribution density) with good accuracy threshold.
